RPET Process
rPET stands for recycled PET (Polyethylene Terephthalete) which is a member of the
polyester family. The difference is that a PET bottle is molded and polyester is a fabric,
but their chemistry is the same. The advantage of these products is that they are environmentally friendly and sustainable. They are both an exceptional value for your customer and a great eco-friendly item.
The process starts by taking the plastic bottles that would normally end up in U.S. landfills and crushing them. The crushed bottles are then exported to our factory in empty cargo containers. Our factory then shreds the bottles and then turns the shredded bottles into spun fiber. At this point we now have a polyester fiber that can be turned into your custom apparel order.
