sublimation FAQ
WHAT IS SUBLIMATION?
Basically, sublimation is the transfer process in which the image or pattern becomes part of the actual apparel item! This is done on special machines that take the pattern and use a combination of pressure and high temperature that will transfer the image and make it part of the fabric. The sublimated material starts out white and the image is added, if the image is only a portion of the design then the rest is sublimated with a solid color to match or compliment the rest of the item.
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN TO YOU?
It means that our sublimation process offers limitless customization options for your apparel. You can change the colors or patterns of our pre-made sublimation DESIGNS & PATTERNS and even determine where and how much sublimation you want. The image, pattern, design, logo or number will become part of the apparel and the result is a great looking, flexible product with sublimation that will not crack or peel. Better yet, it won't be stiff or heavy feeling. Perfect for sports teams!
CAN I USE MY OWN LOGO OR DESIGN?
Of course! We can take your logo or design (in vector format) and make a sublimation pattern for you. Then you will receive a virtual for approval.
WILL THE SUBLIMATION WASH OUT?
No. The sublimated image is part of the apparel item and will not crack or peel off. Like any other apparel item, over time and after many washes the color may change slightly or fade depending on care.
CAN I ADD SUBLIMATION TO ANY FABRIC?
The process of sublimation is limited to POLYESTER fabrics. It will work on the following FSP fabric options: #02 - POLY MESH, #03 - POLY JERSEY, #04 - POLY CHECK, #07 - RPET POLYESTER/COTTON* and #50 - 100% POLYESTER. *Sublimation design will be Rustic/Washed look.
WHAT FSP ITEMS CAN I ADD SUBLIMATION TO?
You can add sublimation to our shirts, polos, hats, jackets, sweatshirts or aprons. Certain restrictions apply.
WHAT ARE THE MINIMUMS & TIMELINES FOR SUBLIMATION?
Minimums on all non-headwear items is still a low 50pc even with sublimation. Hats with sublimation will require a 288pc minimum. Sublimation will add 2-3 weeks production time to your order.
CAN YOU PMS MATCH WITH SUBLIMATION?
PMS colors cannot be matched exactly due to the process of sublimation. However we have developed an extensive color chart which comes very close to most PMS colors. Contact us for more info on color matching.
